On April 18, 2026, the God Is The Greatest Foundation (GTGF), in partnership with Theresa’s Lighthouse, visited the JKS Orphanage Home for Special Needs Children in Abuja for our annual Easter Smile Project.
Outreaches are often framed around what we bring to a community, but our time at JKS reminded us that the true essence of service lies in connecting, feeling, and deeply seeing the individuals we set out to support.
Learning Beyond the Surface
One of the most profound aspects of the visit was an educational session led by the dedicated caregivers at JKS. They shared crucial insights into the wide spectrum of special needs represented at the center, expanding our understanding well beyond common diagnoses like autism to encompass various physical, cognitive, and developmental conditions.

What We Provided
Through the generous support of our donor community and partners, we were able to deliver practical supplies designed to support both the nutritional and daily living needs of the home, as well as the sensory and educational development of the children:
- Nutritional Provisions: Multiple bags of rice, beans, and cooking oil to support the home’s daily meal programs.
- Living Comfort: High-quality bedspreads and duvets to ensure comfortable, warm sleeping spaces for the resident children.
- Learning & Development: Specialized learning toys tailored to engage the children and aid in developmental growth and play therapy.
The Joy of the Easter Smile Project
The day was filled with a sad energy but the resilience, joy, and sheer strength in the children left a lasting impression on our entire team, reminding every volunteer why we choose to serve in the first place.
