I grew up wondering why my sister, Aisiku Oseahumen Theresa, was so different. For as long as I could remember, I wanted to grow up and be someone who would make a difference in the lives of children like my sister.

My parents did their best to raise Theresa like my other sister and I. But their access to information, as I would later learn, was incredibly limited – especially since we lived in an underserved, developing region.There were no specialized interventions or plans for her.

Today, I can only imagine how much more progress she would have experienced if we had access to knowledge and resources on how to give Theresa the very best.

With Theresa’s LightHouse (TLH) the primary mission is clear – to bridge the information gap around neurodevelopmental disorders and other learning disabilities. I believe that knowledge sharing is the first step in this journey. By creating awareness, we can transform perceptions, cultivate empathy, and provide a platform for shared experiences.

In a country like Nigeria, with abundant misconceptions and biases, we envision a society where every child is embraced with understanding and equipped with the necessary resources to thrive – irrespective of their unique conditions.
